<\/p>\nSoit \"\varphi : E \times E \to \mathbb{R}\" une application. On dit que \"\varphi\" est un produit scalaire sur \"E\" si :
\n

  • \"\varphi\" est lin\u00e9aire \u00e0 gauche : pour tout \"y \in E\", \"x \mapsto \varphi \left( x, y \right)\" est lin\u00e9aire ; <\/li>\n
  • \"\varphi\" est lin\u00e9aire \u00e0 droite : pour tout \"x \in E\", \"y \mapsto \varphi \left( x, y \right)\" est lin\u00e9aire ; <\/li>\n
  • \"\varphi\" est sym\u00e9trique : pour tout \"\left( x, y \right) \in E^2\", \"\varphi \left( x, y \right) = \varphi \left( y , x \right)\" ; <\/li>\n
  • \"\varphi\" est positive : pour tout \"x \in E\", \"\varphi \left( x, x \right) \ge 0\" ; <\/li>\n
  • \"\varphi\" est d\u00e9finie : pour tout \"x \in E\", \"\varphi \left( x, x \right) = 0\" si, et seulement si, \"x=0\". <\/li>\n\n\n\n

    <\/p>\nLe produit scalaire de \"x\" et de \"y\" est rarement not\u00e9 \"\varphi(x,y)\". On le note \"\left\langle x , y \right\rangle\", \"\left( x , y \right)\" ou plus simplement \"x\cdot y\".\n\n\n\n

    Conseils m\u00e9thodologiques<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

    <\/p>\nPour v\u00e9rifier qu’une application \"\varphi\" d\u00e9finie sur \"E \times E\" est un produit scalaire sur \"E\", on v\u00e9rifie les points de la d\u00e9finition.
    \nPour le caract\u00e8re \u00ab d\u00e9finie \u00bb, on utilisera fr\u00e9quemment un argument du type : un polyn\u00f4me est nul lorsqu’il a une infinit\u00e9 de racines ou une fonction continue positive sur un segment d’int\u00e9grale nulle est nulle, etc.\n\n\n\n

    D\u00e9finition : Espace pr\u00e9hilbertien r\u00e9el <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    <\/p>\nSoit \"E\" un espace vectoriel sur \"\mathbb{R}\" muni d’un produit scalaire. On dit que \"E\" est un espace pr\u00e9hilbertien r\u00e9el.
    \nSi l’on suppose de plus que \"E\" est de dimension finie, \"E\" est alors un espace euclidien.\n\n\n\n
